CWIT “She Started It” Screening and Panel

CWIT was proud to screen She Started It in partnership with St. Anne’s-Belfield School as part of the Tom Tom Festival. It was great to see so many people come out to learn more about not just the film, but to hear from members of our own community and beyond who have been successful in their own businesses and ideas.
The film showcases the highs and lows of several female entrepreneurs, and unfortunately the lows were eye-opening to many about the gender dynamics at play in the male-dominated tech space. The panel discussion following the screening featured filmmaker and director, Nora Poggi along with regional entrepreneurs:  Suz Somersall, founder and CEO of Kira Kira, Lorraine Sanders, journalist and founder of Spirit of 608, LeiLei Secor, designer and founder of Designed by Lei, and Kim Mahan founder and CEO of MAXX Potential with Kim Wilkens, founder of Tech-Girls moderating.
